About
Mansfield Light Night/ FireLight Festival will be coming back in Feb 2027. Organised by Mansfield District Council, this event has seen nearly 30,000 people come to see the light spectacular.
The event started in 2024 with a brand new concept and a local lighting and sound company on board to go on the journey with us from start to finish, and they did a superb job! Imagine mirror balls, LED screens showing ballet performances and wrapped trees in a picturesque Green Flag awarded local park. Free to enter, this year saw approx. 12,000 attendees.
In 2025, the event was a paid ticketed to ensure maximum safety on site and to help us to organise the correct amount of security, first aid, barriers etc for the event, given the large attendees numbers in its first year. The mirror balls returned to the stuning Carr Bank Park but were joined by a huge inflatable Green Man art installations, woodland animals, butterflies, light up arches and a selfie twinkly light curtain. This year saw 6,000 attendees.
This year 2026, we went back to it being a free event due to some grant funding and we combined the concept of fire into it as well, creating the FireLight Festival. Picture giant brass lotus flowers bursting with flames, iridescent bubbles floating in the Maun, ample amounts of selfie spots and an entire performance area. This year saw approx. 10,000 attendees.
